RPS-NODE-9255-WiFi – Power Control over your Wireless Network

Main Menu > IO Control > Schedule

Click the Schedule Setting button at the top of the page. You will be presented with a very flexible form to schedule power events. Duration can be set to Once, Every Day or Every Week. Options are available to select the date range, time and action to power OFF, NO or Reboot by checking off the “Time Out Action”. Up to 25 events may be scheduled.

Auto-Ping Reboot


Ping Interval: The number of seconds between each unsuccessful Ping. Recommend 45.

Ping Response Time Out : The number of Milliseconds that the RPS-NODE-9255-WiFi will wait for a response from connected device before a failure is registered. Recommend 3000.

Set Ping Delay: This is the time the device will wait before performing the designated action when a failure occurs.

Set Same Action Max Repeat Times: The number of times these settings are allowed to operate. Select 0 for unlimited.

Trigger Logic Model: Selection of up to 2 IP addresses or Host Names maybe entered with either SINGLE, OR or AND logic used to determine when a failure occurs. If AND is selected, both conditions must be met before a failure count is made. If OR, either action can trigger the event. If single, only one IP address or Host Name will be used for testing.

Ping IP or Host Name: The IP Address (recommended) or Host Name (www.google.com) of the device that you are trying to ping.

Ping Failures: The number of Unsuccessful Ping responses before an Action is Triggered.

Repeat: This is the command to continue ping test or stop after event occurs.

Ping Failure Action: From here you can set the device to Reset (reboot) , Turn On or Turn Off the attached device.

Once configured, select the Apply Rule Action Button to enable the ping test.

You must have a valid DNS configured in the settings menu for host names/URLs to be interpreted correctly. For best results, use an IP Address in the ping settings.

Example Ping Setup
1.) The Device will Ping Your designated IP address or host.
2.) If a response is received from by the RPS-NODE-9255-Wifi within Ping Echo Wait time the device continues to ping the Device at the Ping Interval.
3.) If no response is receive the remote power switch will Set Ping Failure Count to 1. And the process starts from step 1 again. Once the Ping Failure Amount is reached Step 4 occurs.
4.) The Device will wait for the Before Action Delay before doing the Event (Reset, Turn On or Turn Off device).
5.) Once Action has been completed it will continue or stop testing depending on your Set Same Action Entry.
